West Dulwich Street Improvements, Brockwell Park to Gipsy Hill Healthy Route Phase 3 and Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) – outcome of informal consultation

Three connecting projects are being proposed in the West Dulwich area:

The combination of the three schemes will help reduce road danger, support more active and sustainable travel, and improve air quality in West Dulwich.

What has been approved?

  • An 18-month trial of the amended Street Improvements scheme (including traffic filters) has been approved using an experimental traffic order

  • A combined statutory consultation on the proposed introduction of parking controls and continuation of a two-way protected cycle rack and pedestrian and crossings along Rosendale Road.

How to make a representation

Healthy Route and CPZ:

  • Before this project can go ahead, a statutory consultation relating to specific traffic orders, will take place before the end of May for 3-5 weeks.

  • Details of how and when to submit representations will be circulated in the next update and by post.

  • Only representations received within the statutory consultation period will be considered before a final decision is made.

West Dulwich Street Improvements (trial) :

  • The Street Improvements trial will commence in the summer for up to 18 months.

  • Representations can be made within the first 6 months of the trial

  • Details of how and when to submit representations will be circulated closer to the time.

  • Only representations received within the statutory consultation period will be considered.

  • Any decisions on changes to the scheme will be made after the first 6 months and once 2 stages of traffic data monitoring have been completed.

The Decision Report approving the next steps for these three projects was published last week and can be viewed here.

Lambeth council would like to thank the West Dulwich community for their contributions which have helped shape updated proposals for all three projects.
